How it works
From judgment to workflow.
COLOS turns the unwritten rules and gray-zone decisions of your food safety experts into clear, auditable, assisted workflows. We capture the practical knowledge that keeps an operation compliant.
Four steps, written like the procedures they produce.
- Step 1.0
Assess your operation
We map your existing SOPs and find the judgment calls made on the floor every day, including the unwritten rules that keep real-world operations compliant.
- Step 2.0
Design around what you have
Our work connects to your current systems. No large software migration: we build on the tools and records you already use.
- Step 3.0
Integrate and implement
We put the workflows into your operating environment directly, so daily compliance work changes with as little disruption as possible.
- Step 4.0
Human sign-off
The workflows bring critical decisions to your team for review. Qualified people make the final call, so oversight and accountability stay where they belong.
02 · What gets captured
One call, written down once, applied every time.
A gray-zone decision usually lives in one person's head. We write down the situation, what the SOP says, what the expert actually does and why. The workflow then flags the same situation the next time it appears and puts it in front of the right person.
The workflow suggests. A qualified person decides, and the reason is kept with the decision.
- Situation
- A pathogen result reads "Negative" with no sample size printed.
- The SOP says
- Accept certificates showing negative pathogen results.
- The expert does
- Asks the supplier for the test portion before the lot is released.
- The workflow now
- Flags every pathogen result with no stated sample size and routes it to QA.
- Final say
- QA, signed in, with the reason on the record.
Algorithms don't run food plants. Qualified humans do.The COLOS philosophy
Bring us the call nobody wrote down.
Tell us about your operation and the decisions that depend on one experienced person. We will show you how COLOS would capture them.
